WxPro is a comprehensive energy audit tool that provides users with a clear picture of measures to perform. This customized audit tool includes both heating and cooling measures. The software makes recommendations for measures the auditors should have performed based on interactive SIR calculations.

1 Why do I need a custom solution?

Each state has distinct needs for weatherization. Customized software allows each state to track client and job information in way that meets their specific needs. Any WxPro deployment starts with a baseline of the current WxPro system. Then customized modules and solutions are added to fit the needs of the state. Reports and customized ad hoc search tools are built in and can be adapted quickly to meet the requirements of the state or federal government.

2 How long would it take?

A baseline Wxpro deployment that includes importing current client data from an existing system takes about 6 months for deployment. If customization is required, the developers will work with the state to create a deployment timeline.

3 What’s the cost, can I share it with other states?

The cost is dependent on the needs of the state and the existing client data that will be imported. After discussions regarding the state’s needs, the WxPro developers will provide an estimate to the state. The costs can be shared among states if multiple states deploy the same solution at the same time, portions of those costs will be split between each state.

The Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) is a unique organization dedicated to providing practical, pioneering solutions to the world’s energy and environmental challenges. In the energy field since 1951, the EERC is a high-tech, nonprofit division of the University of North Dakota that operates like a business and pursues an entrepreneurial, market-driven approach to research and development in order to successfully demonstrate and commercialize innovative technologies.

6 Why was Wxpro Developed?

WxPRO was developed and deployed in a partnership between state weatherization administrators and the EERC. The WxPRO team provides complete maintenance and software improvements to meet the changing requirements of the weatherization program.
